About Me
I’m Mackenzie Landbloom, a clinical social worker, and I’ve been with Vayda for the past year. Before that, I spent much of my career in a large hospital system supporting individuals navigating reproductive health, pregnancy, and the early days of parenthood. My own reproductive experiences changed the way I understand this work. They deepened my appreciation for how personal, complex, messy and sometimes heartbreaking this journey can be. I found myself wanting more space for real connection, continuity, and the kind of individualized attention that isn’t always possible in larger systems. That is what brought me to Vayda where I can be more fully present in the therapeutic relationship and with the people I support.
I specialize in working with individuals impacted by perinatal and maternal mental health challenges, infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, NICU experiences, and the many transitions and stressors that can come with early parenting. I also have a strong interest in supporting non-birthing parents as they navigate their own identity and experience of parenthood. I know firsthand that the path to parenthood can hold both joy and grief, sometimes at the same time. My goal is to offer a space where you can feel seen, make sense of your experience, and begin to reclaim and heal your story in a way that feels authentic to you.
Clinical Approaches
I draw from attachment-based and relational therapy to help you understand how past experiences and relationships may be shaping your current challenges. The reproductive journey and transition to parenthood often bring our own experiences of being parented into sharper focus, surfacing old wounds, questions about identity, and patterns we may want to understand or change. This can open the door to inner child work, gently connecting with younger parts of yourself that may still hold unmet needs or emotional pain. I will work with you to both heal and shift generational patterns. I also incorporate DBT skills to support your ability to regulate your own emotions, cope with challenging times and navigate your relationships. I lean on somatic approaches to help you tune into your body's signals and build a greater sense of regulation and mind/body connection that can be impacted by reproductive trauma.
I have a special interest in grief work and helping clients process reproductive trauma, including pregnancy loss, infertility, traumatic birth experiences, and other unexpected challenges along the reproductive journey. We will work together to explore both the pain and complexity of these experiences while working toward healing, self-compassion, and renewed trust in yourself and your body.
I believe therapy works best when you don't have to edit yourself. You can bring the messy, complicated, unfinished parts of your story into the room. I'll meet you with curiosity, compassion, and honesty. I'll listen deeply, be direct when it serves you, advocate for your needs, and help connect you with additional supports when helpful. Most importantly, you can expect me to show up consistently, care about your well-being, and walk alongside you as you navigate challenges and growth.
The human behind the credentials.
I’m someone who cares a lot about my people and probably feels just about every feeling there is. I value deep connection, genuine conversation, and showing up for the people I love. I also think laughter can get us through a lot, so I’m always looking for humor even in the chaos of life.
When I’m off the clock, you can usually find me spending time with friends and family, going on adventures outside with my daughter and dog who have endless energy or trying to make some new meal that likely will not turn out. When I truly need to relax, you'll often find me watching terrible reality TV show and becoming far more invested in strangers' lives than I should be or being overly loyal to a Minnesota sports team that sends me an emotional rollercoaster every year.
I'm a big believer that life is messy and that emotions aren't problems to solve—they're part of what makes us human. I enjoy helping people slow down, get curious about their experiences, embrace imperfection, and find ways to move through challenges with greater self-understanding and self-compassion.
