A different way of seeing the world & experiencing social relationships. This can lead to incredible creativity & curiosity, but it can also lead to hardship. We will guide you and your family towards acceptance and compassion, support as you/your loved on learns social and emotional skill development to improve relationships, & process living with ASD in a world that can be confusing and overwhelming. We also offer comprehensive psychological testing/evaluation, with specialty in the diagnosis of ASD and related conditions.

Are you wondering “am I/my child on the spectrum?” “Does my partner have Asperger’s?” Or perhaps you already have a diagnosis and need support navigating your symptoms & want to process how it impacts your life. Those on the spectrum may:

  • Prefer to be by themselves (be isolated, engage in solitary play, seem recluse) or want to engage, but struggle to do so

  • Misinterpret social cues (facial expressions, gestures, tone of voice), feel uncomfortable with sustained eye contact, touch, or being in close physical proximity of others.

  • Have speech delay/differences during early childhood (notice your toddler not babbling like you would expect? )or speak in a way that is monotone, robotic, overly formal, or seems like “parroting”

  • Have fixated interests. For kiddos it might be seeming “obsessive” about dinosaurs, anime, outer space, a specific cartoon. In adults, it is often being highly into something like nature, history, politics, horseback riding, a specific band and struggling to have conversation about other topics

  • Sensitivity (or the opposite) to bright lights, loud sounds, crowds, or touch

  • Feeling soothed by certain movements like spinning, flapping or twisting hands/arms, jumping, etc.

  • Show preference for having objects lined/organized “just right,” watching the mechanics of a spinning wheel, door open/close, or become preoccupied with details
